Week one has come and gone! Both of this weeks foes took the field and walked off 60 minutes later with a notch in the win column. Week 1 of college football is nothing but an insight of what needs improving. Week two becomes the judgement week. By the end of the weekend, based on how your team performs, most football fans will be able to recognize what their teams are capable of for the rest of the year. This week, is a prime test for the Aggies from Las Cruces, an Ohio team who walked into Beaver stadium and gave the Penn State faithful a reality check of the dangers of a post-Joe Paterno era. Ohio should have nothing but confidence coming into this game. Who could expect a reality that would see an Aggie team who flopped on them last year and beat an FCS team to start the year could beat them?
I, Like any other Aggie fan, come into this week with a strong sense of hope of improvements for this season. In week one, NMSU battled Sacramento State. Strong performance by the Aggies but pass coverage and offensive line need some adjustments. While the running defense did struggle, they picked it up. Ohio, was nothing short of impressive in their debut. So stands the question, Can the Aggies walk into Athens, OH and walk out with at the very least a solid performance. It seems apparent that New Mexico State will likely fall short in this one. However, if they show up with their improvements made, They may be able to pull out a slim victory! Come back next week for NMSU/UTEP Analysis.
